A popular Japanese discount chain is planning to open at least three locations in the Las Vegas Valley and is making its Nevada debut as part of a larger expansion plan in the United States

According to ROI Commercial, Daiso plans to open a store on Arroyo Market Square, Rainbow Boulevard and 215 Beltway in Southwest Valley this year or early 2022, and next spring or early summer in Downtown Summerlin on Sahara Avenue and Beltway real estate partner Jonathan Serrano.

Both locations have “Coming Soon” signage for the company.

Serrano said Daiso will occupy approximately 6,000 square feet in Arroyo Market and an estimated 5,000 square feet in Summerlin. It has also signed a lease on a Henderson site and is negotiating a few other deals, said Serrano, whose client is Daiso.

The retailer carries a wide range of items such as stationery, home accessories, kitchen utensils and pet toys. The products typically cost $ 1.50.

According to its website, Daiso has 3,620 stores in Japan as of February 2021 and more than 2,200 worldwide in 24 countries and regions.

The first US store opened in 2005 and now has 77 locations in California, Washington, Texas, New York and New Jersey.

Attempts to speak to Daiso were unsuccessful.
