LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – More than a thousand Latino business leaders from around the country visited Las Vegas for the National Convention of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
It was the first time the conference took place in Las Vegas.
“Nevada couldn’t be more proud to host a national organization like this, which actively promotes the economic growth, development, and interests of more than 4.7 million Hispanic-owned companies that donate more than $ 800 billion annually to America Contribute to the economy. There’s no better time to be here in Nevada than during Hispanic Heritage Month, ”said Nevada’s Governor Steve Sisolak.
The conference focused, among other things, on various ways to help Hispanic business owners recover from the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Latino companies will continue to boom,” said Peter Guzman, president of the Latin America Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas.
Nevada has the sixth highest number of Latinos of any US state, according to the US Latin Chamber of Commerce.
With a growing Hispanic population in Nevada, Guzman says, the goal is to continue to grow Latino businesses and provide them with the resources they need to be successful.
“We are what makes America great. We really are, ”said Guzman.
“It’s just amazing what it adds to our culture and work experience,” said Governor Sisolak.
Those attending the conference either had to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result.
