NORTH LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – When you work in a large open plan office, you know privacy is hard to come by. 13 Action News host Todd Quinones introduces you to a Nevada-built company that is reinventing the phone booth as it competes against the stars of big and small screens.
SWIMMING WITH SHARKS
“So Barbara, we’d like to counter $ 350,000 for 15%,” says Cubicall’s Anthony Pucci.
The brothers Anthony and Nick Pucci went swimming with the sharks.
FUN EXPERIENCE
“You were with Shark Tank and that kind of got you national recognition,” says Todd. “Yes, absolutely. Yes, that was May 2019 and it was really fun,” says Nick Pucci.
You rose up with Superman too.
EXCELLENT ADVENTURE
“Believe it or not, we called Warner Brothers. We asked permission. So we got the license to build this Superman booth,” says Anthony. “No kidding. So this is what you have here,” says Todd. “That’s what we had in mind,” says Anthony.
It was all an excellent adventure.
BILL & TED
“It was a lot of fun and it made another fun license that we had a Bill and Ted Booth that I could show you. We just don’t have any more on hand,” says Anthony.
Yes, the phone booth used in the 2020 movie “Bill and Ted Face the Music” was made by this Nevada-built company.
“It all starts here. This is where all of this structure is put in place to make it all possible,” says Anthony.
STANDING ON STEROIDS
You could have touched the stars. But their feet are firmly on the ground while they focus on making their start-up called Cubicall a success.
“It’s like the phone booth on steroids, if I could put it that way, isn’t it? Because it’s so convenient, you could fit in here too. But ideally that’s still made for one person, isn’t it? ”Says Todd. “This one is made for one person. It’s like your own little private office,” says Nick.
DIFFERENT SIZES
Their portable enclosed cubicles vary in size, from single cubicles to a small meeting room.
“You still have all the soundproofing, automatic lighting, air circulation,” says Nick.
They are the brothers’ answer to finding privacy in modern, sprawling offices.
WATCH IT DEVELOP
“This is a business that seems to make so much sense, especially when you consider how many offices have adopted this wide-open concept,” says Todd. “Exactly, and I still think it’s going to be a concept. You will see how it will develop, ”says Anthony.
The booths start at around $ 7,500. This order they are working on is for a bank.
“They use the booths for virtual cashiers. So instead of going to the bank, you can now call that bank. You are conducting a video conference. And when you talk to that cashier, you are actually speaking in one of our booths, “says Anthony.
MODERN TELEPHONE BOX
Before moving to Nevada in 2020, the brothers started Cubicall in California in 2017 with a modern take on a phone booth.
“And then we can’t hear you. You can hear us,” says Nick. “It’s amazing how much, I mean, wow, what a huge difference in volume alone,” says Todd. Nick: Exactly.
“When this is closed and this is open, you could really hear that kind of dampening, you know?” says Todd. “Exactly,” says Nick.
SHARK ADVISER
During her appearance on Shark Tank, Anthony and Nick made a deal with Barbara Corcoran. They say the deal eventually failed. However, you keep in touch with her and she advises them.
