The following is a roundup of the latest news from the Las Vegas Valley.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is located on the 6800 block of Sheffield Drive near Rainbow Boulevard and Craig Road in front of a barricade situation.
Officials said they followed up on a wanted suspect when the suspect refused to leave the residence. SWAT and negotiators are on site. Rainbow is closed between Craig Road and Hartman Street.
The man was eventually taken into custody after the scene was resolved.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue is located on the scene of a fire at 401 E Charleston Blvd., the Siegel Suites. Smoke comes in an apartment on the third floor. They say it’s unit limited, no injuries have been reported.

NV Energy reports that nearly 9,000 customers are currently without power. Most of the customers are in the postal codes 89107, 89108 and 89128. There are currently a total of 10 failures. Click here for more info.
