Two men shot, killed in North Las Vegas identified, 7 others injured during incident

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – North Las Vegas Police are investigating a Sunday night shooting that killed two people and injured seven others.

The men shot were identified as Aljavonn Jashawnte Williams, 22, and Maurice Jr. Clinkscale, 21. The Clark County Coroner office says the cause of death for both men is a gunshot wound and the type of death is murder.

The shooting was reported at around 11:14 pm at 1200 W. Helen Avenue near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a person with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound who was transported to the University Medical Center, according to a North Las Vegas police press release.

A short time later, officers were told that more injured patients with gunshot wounds had arrived at the UMC and one had died. Dignity Health in North Las Vegas also notified police that a gunshot victim had been obtained and was pronounced dead, police said.

The two deceased are said to be around 20 years old. At least seven other people were injured.

No details of any suspect or motive for the shooting were released.
