Severe thunderstorm warning canceled early, but rain hammering parts of Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A severe thunderstorm warning issued for southeast Las Vegas including Lake Mead and Henderson has been prematurely canceled, but rain continues to fall in some parts of the valley.

Some parts of Henderson received half an inch of rain in 30 minutes. There is also heavy rainfall in the Red Rock area, as well as in the northern part of the valley. Hail and lightning are possible in this storm. There is also some minor flooding and a flood warning is in place for much of the valley.

Power outages have also been reported across the Las Vegas Valley, affecting more than 5,000 customers.
