According to the authorities, the facility is designed for the interaction of officials with residents and tourists.
“The kiosk represents our commitment to expanding our community engagement to include the different populations we serve,” said Sheriff Joe Lombardo. “Resorts World Las Vegas was a great partner who supported us.”
The 570 square foot kiosk is located on 3000 S. Las Vegas Blvd., near Resorts World Avenue on the northeast corner of the 88 acre Resorts World Las Vegas property.
The LVMPD Community Safety Hub will promote positive visitor experiences and create a community interface with local law enforcement agencies, officials say.
Resorts World Las Vegas President Scott Sibella accompanied Sheriff Lombardo, Clark County Commission Chairperson Marilyn Kirkpatrick, and Convention Center Area Command Commander Dori Koren to the inauguration ceremony on Monday.
“As the newest hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, Resorts World Las Vegas is a committed community partner. This new Community Safety Hub is a great opportunity for visitors, locals, and Metro to positively engage one another, and we hope this kiosk fulfills the vision of being an important community resource that enhances the visitor experience, ”said Scott Sibella, President of Resorts World Las Vegas.
Police say the kiosk will be part of the CCAC and allow a greater police presence on that part of the strip. The area command also plans to host community events there in the near future.
WA Richardson Builders and Marnell Architecture, as well as numerous subcontractors, provided time and materials for the project.
