In the middle of the 1997-1998 NBA season, Dennis Rodman called for a break. After a 48 hour hiatus, The Worm went on a wild trip in Las Vegas. So notorious was his trip that Lionsgate is about to release 48 Hours In Vegas.
Dennis Rodman is one of the most unique characters the league has ever seen. One of the most underrated players at just 6’7 ” tall, Rodman is arguably one of the greatest rebounders the league has ever seen. Dennis knew what he was best at and would only give the teams the best. There have been several games in his career where he has been scoring but stacked the recovering stats column.
The worm won 5 NBA championships over the course of his 14-year professional career. He had the greatest success with the Chicago Bulls when they won their second three from 1996 to 1998. Rodman was an integral part of the Bulls who won these three championships.
Aside from being a one-of-a-kind basketball player, Dennis led a fairly celebrated life outside of the hardwood. All his life, Dennis was known for his exaggerated lifestyle. To call Dennis’ extrajudicial antics wild would be a huge understatement.

Parties, girls, drugs, jail, casinos have been something The Worm has been associated with since joining the league at the age of 25. Among many incidents of his extrajudicial antics, the 1998 midseason to Las Vegas is probably the most infamous.

In episode 3 of the documentary series “The Last Dance” we were shown how Rodman requested an off-season break after taking on more responsibility during Scottie Pippen’s absence. And when Pip joined the roster after missing 35 games of the 97-98 season, Phil Jackson gave Dennis a 48-hour break. Of course, Dennis added more than 48 hours to his Las Vegas trip. And during this trip, it is safe to say that Rodman decided to live his life to the fullest.
Dennis Rodman’s 1998 trip became so widely known that the entertainment company Lionsgate decided to release a film called “48 Hours In Vegas,” which depicts The Worm’s wild journey to Sin City.
Lord and Miller, the producers of the film, said:
“Dennis refused to follow the herd. That made him a target and a star too. His weekend in Las Vegas is full of fun and pitfalls, but also full of important questions about dealing with public figures and workers, especially when their individuality is so vividly expressed. “

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group President Nathan Kahane also spoke about the upcoming film:
