Longtime Las Vegas bookmaker Nick Bogdanovich was fired from Caesars Sports four months after Caesars Entertainment bought William Hill for $ 4 billion and named Bogdanovich vice president of trading.

Bogdanovich, who had previously been William Hill’s sports betting director since 2012, confirmed on Tuesday that he has been fired.

“They wanted to take a different direction,” said Bogdanovich in a text message.

He declined further comments.

Bogdanovich, 59, was the Director of Bookmaking Operations at Club Cal-Neva Sportsbook when William Hill purchased Club Cal-Neva, American Wagering, and Brandywine Bookmaking for $ 55 million in 2011.

Bogdanovich is from Las Vegas and graduated from Western High School. He played basketball and earned a degree in business administration from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho.

He began his sports betting career in Las Vegas in 1986 as a ticket writer for Sands Sportsbook. He spent nine years as the sports betting director of Binion Horseshoe and also directed books for Stratosphere, Mandalay Bay and Golden Nugget.

Messages to Caesars Sports and William Hill for comments were not returned.
