Las Vegas Design Center Focuses on Education, Charity

Next month, the Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) will be running functional kitchen design educational programs and fundraising for families with children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder. According to the International Market Centers (IMC), both events will take place on October 1st in the LVDC.

“LVDC is committed to both our industry and our Las Vegas community,” said Cain Brodie, LVDC general manager. “Our goal is to train industrial designers through monthly workshops and to support the local community through fundraising initiatives like Art 4 Autism.”

October “First Friday” session

Titled “Designing with Ultra Premium Kitchen Appliances for Enduring Style and Performance,” this first Friday in October session examines the concept of the “prosumer” kitchen, the consumer values ​​of the ultra premium appliance market, and the styles, functions, and design considerations associated with ultra premium appliances. Kitchen appliances. Designers are learning how to influence home cooking by using the same equipment as professional chefs. Participants in the free session, which is held virtually, receive 0.1 CEU credits.

Stacy McCarthy, Designer Services Manager at Middleby Residential, will present the October “First Friday” session. McCarthy is a certified master chef, bathroom designer, and interior designer with degrees in architectural design and art history. Stacy is fully accredited by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and has worked as a CEU provider for several years. Art 4 Autism Fundraiser

The LVDC will also launch a month-long fundraiser for Art 4 Autism in October, in partnership with Families for Effective Autism Treatment (FEAT) and Las Vegas local arts curator Brian Paco Alvarez. An installation of custom art created by adults and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder premieres on October 1 at a gallery event from 6pm to 8pm. The art will remain on display in Building A Atrium throughout October. Every original piece of the installation is available for purchase; Fifty percent of the income goes to FEAT and 50 percent goes directly to artists.
