LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Las Vegas celebrates the Lunar New Year with restaurant specials, decorations, and events in February. The year 2021 is the year of the ox.
- Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden celebrates the year of the ox with a fascinating New Year’s exhibition “A Season of Love”, which is open until Saturday, March 6th. The gardens are designed to bring prosperity, strength and tenacity into the New Year and take inspiration from Asian art, architecture and culture. The result is a collaboration between designer Ed Libby and Bellagio’s horticultural team, which exudes gold and red tones with beautiful botanical creations made from flowers, seeds, silk and plants. The heart of the conservatory is the jade pavilion on the west bed, which is bordered by a bonsai tree and a graceful willow tree. Both tower over a bed with a selection of shrubs, dozens of metallic cattail plants and ornate copper bonsai tree rain wells -stamped leaves with an individual hand. Two magpie birds hover over the bed’s flower arrangements, which are illuminated by the ox symbol in the moon.
- CNY in the desert™ will host virtual celebrations on Tuesday February 9th this year. RSVP to see the lion dance blessing, cooking demonstrations by Chef Martin Yan and Chef Khai, a cocktail demo by mixologist Luis de Santos, and a variety of sweepstakes.
- Las Vegas fashion show On Saturday February 13th there will be a cultural performance as a dragon and lion parade through the center. Walk through the Great Hall to experience the history and beauty of Chinese New Year with the annual lantern garden dance performances every Thursday-Sunday from Friday February 12 through Friday February 26.
- The forum shops Special offers for the Lunar New Year are available at Caesars Palace until the end of February. Additionally, the store’s decor features a 22-foot-long dragon, which is not only a great photo opportunity for visitors, but also a traditional symbol of power, strength, and luck.
- Fremont Street Experience celebrates the Chinese New Year on Friday February 12th with a special Viva Vision light and sound show. The canopy illuminates the pedestrian zone with brand new vacation-themed images created exclusively for the world’s largest single video screen.
- Grand Canal Shoppes The Wishing Tree installation is in the heart of the Shoppes in the Palazzo Tower. Guests can add a personal wish to the wish tree by scanning a QR code with their smartphone and unlocking an Instagram filter that uses voice-controlled technology so that the guest can express their wish and see them fly to the tree, where they practically live with everyone becomes the other desires. Highlights include picture-perfect oversized 2021 letters near Macy’s, a larger-than-life Chinese dragon in the dining arroyo, and an insta-worthy photo wall with festive decor in the hallway near H&M. - The business at Crystals Celebrate the Lunar New Year with a themed floral carpet with a gold Buddha and red envelopes on the first level next to the tree house and the Hanging Gardens, which are filled with red lanterns on the second level.
- The Venetian and the Palazzo The flower and horticultural team worked with artisans to create a custom display that stands 13 feet tall and is surrounded by I Ching coins that represent the symbols of wealth, health, good fortune, and good fortune. The massive ox is female and is called Alessandra Heng. The name Alessandra pays tribute to her Italian homeland and means “defender of humanity”.
