Mansion Global is now on YouTube. The leader in global luxury real estate news launched its first journalist-run YouTube channel on Monday, hosted by Editor-in-Chief Beckie Strum.
The first episode shows a sprawling, modern megavilla on the outskirts of Las Vegas fighting for a price record in southern Nevada. The $ 32.5 million home is packed with smart home features from numerous automatic doors to a car lift in the 12-car garage to rows and rows of solar panels on the roof.
If the home – whose under-roof square meters is the equivalent of five regulated basketball courts – sells near its price, it would break the price record set earlier this year by another tech-rich desert home that closed for $ 25 million.
This potential record breaker also underscores a much bigger story in Las Vegas – the tremendous growth in the city’s housing market over the past year. Amid the pandemic, shoppers, particularly from California, have come to the desert oasis in search of a fair lifestyle with more space at a lower price.
For example, in September the average asking price for a luxury home in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Statistical Area – defined as the top 1% of the market – rose 32% year over year, according to data from Realtor.com. (Mansion Global is owned by Dow Jones. Both Dow Jones and realtor.com are owned by News Corp.)
Check out the first video in our series where we introduce more market-leading record breakers, breathtaking amenities and dream homes, and subscribe to the channel.
