A Texas couple who were about to board a flight to Las Vegas did not miss out on discovering this stowaway in their luggage – their Chihuahua named Icky, who apparently had to be part of them for the trip to Sin City.

A chubby bag drew her attention to her little puppy’s mishap.

“You weighed it in and this bag is basically five, five and a half pounds overweight,” Jared Owens told KCBD-11 regarding the breathtaking incident at the Southwest Airlines counter at Lubbock Airport, where he was and his wife Kristi checked in.

“Really fast we say, ‘Oh, we have to rearrange a few things.’ Open it and our dog literally comes out of my trunk – he comes out of my trunk with his head up, ”he said.

Owens mentioned that the couple’s dog has a penchant for digging.

“She’s the rootler, that’s what she does. She rummages in clothes, she digs in, obviously suitcases now, ”he said.

But regardless of whether they made up their minds with little Icky, the couple got lucky when a Southwest worker named Cathy Cook dealt with the pooch while they resumed their flight to Vegas.

“You have a bloody co-worker in Cathy. She did everything and never made us feel like she could have told us we were trying to smuggle a dog into Vegas or something, ”Jared informed KCBD.

“I never behaved like that, you were very kind. Like I said, she was ready to take care of our dog for us while we were away, ”he said, happy that they found Icky before getting in.

Jared and Kristi Owens mentioned that disgusting “digging in clothes” could typically have put the pooch in the suitcase.Facebook

“Thank goodness we found this dog because you would have come to Vegas and probably had a deceased animal in your pocket,” he said.
