Current sets from the festival’s artists will be streamed Roblox 24 hours after their personal appearances, with selected artists also taking part in shows. Acts will appear in the Metaverse on the same stage as the actual event, replicating the real shows in digital space. Check out a demo from the Insomniac World Party metaverse below.

Roblox will also have a space for fans to delve into the Metaverse this weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway during the festival. Because the Insomniac World Party is a “persistent” space, it will be open indefinitely, with additional events planned for the space in the future. The intent behind adding so many games and so much music to this metaverse is to give fans something to do within the Insomniac World Party between events.

“Working and creating with a Metaverse leader like Roblox is an exciting opportunity for Insomniac,” said Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac. “Bringing people together from around the world through art and experience is a goal we always work hard towards, and together with Roblox we can expand this into the digital world. This experience takes the creativity and inspiration behind EDC and all other festivals and events to new heights – digitally bringing our vision to life and making the wonder and magic of EDC accessible to everyone of all ages and everywhere. “

“Roblox continues to lead the way in bringing innovative, immersive music experiences to the Metaverse, and we’re excited to partner with Insomniac as the first to build a permanent virtual festival world on the platform they’ll be hosting EDC this week. One of the biggest music festivals in the world, ”said Jon Vlassopulos, Vice President and Global Head of Music at Roblox.

Vlassopulos notes that this is only the first of these initiatives for Roblox, adding, “We look forward to bringing more amazing permanent music worlds like this to you in the coming months as we continue to help the music industry move into new ones with our global audiences and unprecedented ways. “

More than 200 artists are playing the Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas this weekend, with the festival returning for the first time since 2019 after being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
