Before stepping down as head coach of the Raiders, Jon Gruden spent a lot of money on a sprawling house in Las Vegas.

Gruden and his wife own a two-story, 8,684-square-foot home in the Southern Highlands parish, according to Clark County records.

Their $ 4.3 million purchase was recorded with the county on Aug. 10, almost exactly two months before Gruden stepped down from the Las Vegas NFL team on Monday night after news reports of his use of racist, misogynistic, and anti-government agencies had reported homophobic comments in emails over the years.

It is unclear what Gruden intends to do with the house. Attempts to reach the former soccer coach, including through the Raiders and his agents, were unsuccessful on Tuesday.

Clark County’s building records available online show floor plans and other details about the home on Olympia Canyon Way near Southern Highlands Golf Club on the southern edge of the Las Vegas Valley, but don’t shed much light on its amenities.

It is located on approximately 0.8 hectares of land and an occupancy certificate signed in October 2020 describes the house as a custom-made single-family home.

Property records also show that the Grudens own a 0.9 acre property next door.

Planning permission for a 2,332-square-foot guest house on this property was granted in June, according to the district’s records.

Gruden won a 10-year $ 100 million deal with the Raiders in 2018, two years before the team moved from Oakland, California to Las Vegas.

Nor was he the only member of the valley’s professional sports scene to buy a large house in the Southern Highlands.

Former Golden Knight Marc-Andre Fleury bought a single-story, 5,285-square-foot home in the township for $ 2.3 million in 2017.

The star hockey goalie sold the pitch to the owner of Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club in 2019 for the same price, records showed.
