The Findlay Automotive Group celebrates its 60th anniversary. With 33 locations and over 2,300 employees, Findlay is a family-run company. His goal has always been to take care of his employees, customers, and the community at large.
The Findlay story is a Las Vegas story. In 1961 Pete Findlay founded Pete Findlay Oldsmobile. It was a time when Las Vegas was booming. With hard work and dedication, the Findlay name has grown along with Las Vegas. Sixty years later, Pete’s son Cliff and three sons Justin, Nathan and Robby – fifth generation Nevadans – run the family business.
Findlay CFO Tyler Corder has been with the company for more than 25 years.
“So many dealerships are owned by large national corporations that have no connection with our community,” he said. “Findlay is a family business and that has a huge impact on the way we work. We have three generations of families involved. We’re all about family and community, and that’s what the name Findlay means to me. “
Findlay has been involved in the community from the start and gives something back. The company contributes funds and its employees volunteer at local non-profit organizations. These organizations are well equipped to understand the needs of the community and how to best serve real people and families, which in turn creates better and stronger neighborhoods.
“We are all about community. We really believe in that, ”said Corder. “I just took it over from what Pete started in the 60s. I have pictures of him with all kinds of charities. As we’ve grown, we’ve multiplied that effort and done our best to give back as much as possible. “
Findlay Automotive Group has been recognized over the years for its community service efforts.
“We have worked with well over 100 charities and look forward to continuing our community engagement. We love giving back, ”said Corder.
In addition to its community-oriented efforts, Findlay has sought to provide a supportive and caring workplace for its employees. As a result, many employees stay with the company for their entire professional life.
“We have helped a lot of people advance in their careers. We strive to promote from within, ”said Corder. “Almost all general managers of car dealerships held several positions with us before they took on this role. We create opportunities from within in which people can support their families, and in return they have raised people who have cared for them. “
Jaguar Land Rover Henderson opened its doors in June 2021, making it the 33rd dealer to join the Findlay Automotive Group. General Manager Chuck Loubert has been with Findlay for 19 years. His enthusiasm and passion for his employees and his dealership are palpable.
“I started parking cars in the auto industry when I was 18,” Loubert said.
He has spent his entire career in this industry with various dealers. Regarding the management of Findlay, he said, “Cliff, Tyler, Robby and Justin. They are just great people who support you 100 percent. We all follow their example of leadership. “
