LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – Las Vegas feels “normal” again after the last Covid-related restrictions on Jan.
“Man, it feels great just to see the crowd, the energy, the people, everything opens up, it’s great, it’s great,” said Gilbert Rodriguez, who is visiting from San Antonio, Texas.
“It feels good, it’s my first time here, I’ve seen five masks the whole time, it was pretty normal!” joked Kameron Caminiti, visiting from Ohio
Starting Tuesday evening, long visitors waited on the Welcome to Las Vegas sign to get the perfect picture.
It’s also a sign that visitors are returning to Las Vegas.
“It’s just exciting to be here, looking forward to the vacation and getting back to normal,” said Thomas Heniff, who is visiting from Joliet, Illinois.
The final restrictions on capacity limits, social distancing and other restrictions have been allowed to expire, meaning that concerts, shows and restaurants can once again be used for entertaining and welcoming guests.
“We actually saw a show last night, it was good, it was full of energy, it was great,” said Rodriguez.
“It was wild, I’m fully vaccinated, but it was nice to get off the plane and just take my mask off and not have to worry,” said Heniff.
“Just walking around, it’s weird, it feels natural to put the mask on when I go to places. It’s cool not having to do that anymore,” added Heniff.
Most Las Vegas casinos were already at 100% capacity after receiving special clearance from the Nevada Gaming Control Board prior to June 1st.
When it comes to wearing masks, many companies follow state and federal guidelines that require people who are not fully vaccinated should wear a mask.
