LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – As of last Thursday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) no longer recommend wearing masks indoors or outdoors for fully vaccinated individuals. It wasn’t long before Las Vegas benefited from it.
Many places here drop the requirement for fully vaccinated locals and tourists alike.
“It’s very convenient. We don’t get rushed by anyone about the mask requirement. I’m vaccinated so I just show them my card when they say something. It kind of feels like home, which is really weird.” says Las Vegas tourist Jacob.
LIST: Who doesn’t and doesn’t need masks after new guidelines are issued?
While the Las Vegas Strip is full of tourists who do not wear masks, the Culinary Union, whose primary goal is to protect its workers, has issued a statement stating, “Workers who are uncomfortable should not wear a mask , can still do this. They expect employers and colleagues to treat people with respect who nevertheless choose to do so. “
The Culinary Union issued a statement on Friday. You can read it here.
There are those who feel good one way or another.
Another tourist, Isaiah, says, “I’m comfortable not wearing it, but I’m also comfortable wearing it, so I’ll just do it.”

Others feel the need to put their masks back on when there are too many people.
“I’m fine, but sometimes when it gets a little crowded it gets a little tired. It’s brand new. We don’t really know how effective the vaccination is so I just wear it that way. I’ve been doing it for a year, “Charvette, a Las Vegas tourist, told us.
