Man fatally shot near east Las Vegas auto repair shop

A man was fatally shot and killed near an auto repair shop in east Las Vegas on Sunday.

The shooting in block 3900 on East Charleston Boulevard occurred around 11 a.m., Lt. Ray Spencer, Homicide Squad, Metropolitan Police Department.

Arriving police officers found the man in his late 40s with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the university hospital, where he died.

In the Pep Boys parking lot at 3995 E. Charleston Blvd. police said the man was just docking his vehicle to another vehicle to be towed when another man approached him, shot him multiple times, and then left the scene.

Witnesses saw the shooter run away after the shooting, Spencer said. The police aren’t sure whether the two men knew each other.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will identify the man killed.
