MAUI, Hawaii (AP) – The Maui Invitational is relocating to Las Vegas this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing travel restrictions in Hawaii.
It takes place from November 22nd to 24th at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The original field of eight schools will remain for the marquee preseason event.
The Maui Invitational was held in North Carolina last year.
“As we eagerly await our return to the island in 2022, we know that we were able to safely and successfully move the event to Asheville last year while maintaining the spirit of Maui, and we expect the same result in this one Year in Las Vegas. ”Said Tom Valdiserri, Executive Vice President of KemperLesnik, who will lead the event.
This year’s Maui Invitational field includes Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Butler, Houston, Oregon, Chaminade, St. Mary’s, and Notre Dame.
