Las Vegas police arrested a person who refused to leave a Walgreens pharmacy in the East Valley, sparking a standoff that disrupted traffic in the area.

The Metropolitan Police Department said in a press release posted at 10:20 am that officials had “arrested the suspect barricaded … without incident” in the store on 4400 Block on East Bonanza Road near South Lamb Boulevard.

The publication did not specify what type of business it was, but several police vehicles, including an armored SWAT police vehicle, were observed in front of and around a Walgreens at 4470 E. Bonanza Road.

Bystanders also said they heard several lightning bolts in the area before 10 a.m.

The episode caused major traffic delays, with the Bonanza intersection at Lamb expected to remain closed until officials cleared the area, the statement said.
