LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – Weather devastated multiple events in southern Nevada on Thursday, forcing events to be postponed, knocking down power lines and creating dusty conditions at sunset.

The strong winds affected a planned official Vegas Golden Knights watch party at the Circa Hotel Casino in downtown Las Vegas.

“A little wind can’t stop us,” said Matthew Quinn, a Vegas Golden Knights fan.

“It was pretty windy, but I mean in [Circa Sportsbook] You can’t beat some of the best bartenders I’ve come across and we’ve got a lot on the books, that’s why we’re out here, “added Quinn.

The party continued at the resort, just in different locations.

“We’re the biggest fans in the National Hockey League,” said Michael Quinn.

13 action news cameras also recorded the wind blowing tourists and visitors through the city center.

“Apparently this is an extremely strong wind for Las Vegas,” said Sharon Wohl, who is visiting from Iowa.

“We got out of our hotel to get into the cabin and were pretty shocked by the wind speeds,” added Wohl.

The winds were also strong enough to cause a few isolated blackouts near downtown.

The Nevada Department of Transportation also tweeted that the power outages left some traffic lights dark, urging motorists to treat these locations as stops, mainly along US 95 east of downtown.

5:54 p.m., power outages in downtown and east Las Vegas near US-95. Treat dark signals as an all-way stop. Plan for delays.
