LAS VEGAS (AP) – Crews are still working to repair equipment damaged by a wind storm that powered thousands in the Las Vegas Valley.
NV Energy crews worked Saturday evening through Sunday morning.
Saturday’s storm toppled trees, power lines and traffic lights.
National Weather Service meteorologists said North Las Vegas Airport recorded gusts of 73 mph, while McCarran International Airport and Nellis Air Force Base recorded gusts of 62 mph.
More than 33,000 NV Energy customers in Clark County were without power Saturday night, but that number had been reduced to about 1,450 by Sunday noon.
It was unclear when the electricity supplier could supply all affected customers with electricity again.
