LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – International travel is back in Las Vegas as British Airways resumes its non-stop service to and from McCarran for the first time since last year’s pandemic.
The hope is that with more international travelers visiting again, this could be the final piece of the puzzle to reclaiming the Las Vegas economy.
“I left March 30th last year, so it’s been almost 20 months since I was back in the US,” said Stuart Moles.
“We had a great time in Vegas and now we’re all broke. We did a lot of shopping and are now going home but we are ready to book for next year, ”said Dani Hollis from the UK.
Las Vegas recorded nearly 1.5 million travelers from Europe in 2019, and over 740,000 tourists made the trip in the UK, according to LVCVA.
“Vegas is a city that really needs people to come and have a great time and hopefully spend a lot of money,” said Moles.
“Hopefully it will give the economy the financial boost every city needs right now,” he added.
