No matter how much time you spend in Las Vegas, there are always new flavors to experience every time you return. The city’s gastronomy scene is constantly expanding, not only with new restaurant concepts throughout the valley, but also when local chefs and restaurateurs switch gears and create new offers in established pubs.
Enthusiasm grows for the brand new Boom Bang Delicatessen & Cocktails (702.478.6200) in the cozy Green Valley neighborhood of Henderson. This American indoor and outdoor brasserie comes from top chef alum Elia Aboumrad-Page, her head chef and restaurateur husband Christian Page and beverage specialist Tony Angotti – and this team’s passion for creative cuisine is evident in the opening menu. Be one of the first to try the Tomato Tart from the Farmers Market with marinara jam, lobster bisque with puff pastry crouton, Wagyu steak fries with Kennebec fries, and 20-hour duck confit with lentils, poached pear, and sun-dried apricots. Vegetarian options and desserts also attract attention at Boom Bang Fine Foods, as do its fresh cocktail creations.
On the opposite side of the valley in Summerlin, popular Italian restaurant At the usual place (702.463.6781) at Tivoli Village recently unveiled new seasonal dishes from celebrated chef Steve Young, including roasted beetroot salad with whipped ricotta figs, casarecce noodles with fennel sausage and broccoli raven, butternut squash risotto, a tender Milanese veal chop Art and seafood cioppino with Maine lobster and other oceanic treasures. Al Solito Posto’s incredible bar, which you’ll happily find yourself at for dinner if you skip a reservation, also has new seasonal cocktails to try like the Hocus Pocus with vodka and chai tea flavors and the Il Capo, the Mezcal, brandy and amaro are prepared with cocoa nib. And don’t skip dessert; The hot new bite is Pumpkin Cheesecake with Spiced Caramel and White Chocolate Anglaise. How could you resist
Back on the boulevard, celebrity chef David Chang introduces something funny in his meat and fish restaurant at The Palazzo, the fantastic Majordomo Meat & Fish (702.607.3060). The Early Doors menu is for guests who are ready for a quicker, earlier dinner, perhaps because there are many more stops before their night on the Las Vegas Strip. The three-course meal is available Sunday through Thursday and includes options such as an iceberg wedge with thickly sliced bacon and marinated tomatoes, a wood-grilled prime New York strip steak with beef butter, miso-marinated Chilean sea bass with pak choy and daikon, and a selection of sorbets to complete the experience.
At Sahara Las Vegas, a historic strip casino that has been constantly updating its dining portfolio over the past few months, the newest entry is Philadelphia Import Chickies & Petes (702.761.8070), one of the most respected sports bars in the country. Here you will find your favorite dishes on matchday, from burgers and wings to pizza and cheesesteaks. But seafood is the house specialty here, ranging from fried Sicilian-style calamari to New England clam chowder, warm or chilled lobster rolls to steamed clams, clams and oysters. This is one of the few restaurants on the Strip that you can order whole Dungeness crabs and head out into town at your table. It’s a fun-filled dining experience whose time has come in Vegas.
