Las Vegas, while famous for its clubbing and party scenes, is also home to a variety of attractions that are perfect for families. With many activities already resuming and the Strip is scheduled to be fully open to vaccinated travelers by June, this is a great time to start planning your next vacation. Here are our top 10 family-friendly activities not to be missed on your next trip to the city!
1. Visit the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian
The Venetian is one of the many themed resorts in Vegas and houses hotel rooms as well as the Grand Canal Shoppes. The combination of a fun theme and a variety of shops and attractions makes it a great option for people of all ages. In addition to shopping, you can also look forward to unique attractions such as gondola rides.
2. Watch a Cirque Du Soleil show
After a period of closure, Cirque Du Soleil is returning to Vegas. With stunning acrobatic shows, this is an option that is sure to keep the whole family entertained! The shows start again in June 2021, so it’s the perfect time to grab your tickets for your upcoming trip! Some of the shows are O, a classic cirque show with partly water character, and Mystere, a newer show.
3. Stay or play at Circus Circus
Here’s another suggestion for circus lovers – consider staying at, or at least visiting, the Circus Circus Hotel. Like many of the themed hotels in Vegas, Circus Circus offers not only the rooms but also many attractions in its AdventureDome. You can look forward to visiting the classic arcade, trying your hand at Midway games, or having fun on one of the hotel’s many roller coasters and rides.
4. Defy the X scream
There is something here for families with older children as well as for the more adventurous! Take a look at X-Scream which is in the STRAT. This hair-raising ride hovers over 800 feet above the ground and offers visitors a truly unforgettable view of the city below. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Additionally, all drivers must be at least 52 inches tall to drive.
5. Visit Hershey’s Chocolate World
Those with a sweet tooth will love a visit to Hershey’s Chocolate World! This huge candy store offers all the candy you can only dream of, a variety of fun, interactive experiences. You can look forward to personalizing your own Hershey’s wrapper, trying a Hershey’s milkshake, and much more!
6. Visit the Shark Reef Aquarium in Mandalay Bay
See a wide variety of animals up close at the Shark Reef Aquarium in Mandalay Bay! This beautiful aquarium is home to creatures like sharks, piranhas, and a Komodo dragon. Timed entry tickets are currently required if you are planning a visit!
7. Visit the Fun Dungeon
Check out the Fun Dungeon at the Excalibur Resort to play a variety of games! You and your family can look forward to arcade games, midway games and more in the Fun Dungeon. If you’re hungry after a long day of fun, the Fun Dungeon also has a Dairy Queen for a quick bite or a refreshing treat.
8. Explore the Discovery Children’s Museum
Experience interactive fun with a trip to the Discovery Children’s Museum. This three-story museum has a variety of exhibits that kids of all ages will love. For families with young children, check out Toddler Town, a desert play land. Or, for slightly older children, explore The Summit, a tower made up of 12 adventurous levels.
9. Play mini golf
If you’re looking for a combination of spooky and fun, check out Twilight Zone Mini Golf from Monster Mini Golf in Vegas. You can look forward to exploring a black light miniature golf course which is home to a wide variety of ghouls and creatures on the course. The location also offers bowling and an arcade for even more fun!
10. Visit Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Delfin Habitat
If your family wants to see more animals, visit Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. As the home of animals such as dolphins, tigers and lions, a trip here will be an unforgettable experience! In addition to watching the dolphins, there is usually a variety of VIP packages and meet & greets. There are currently no special experiences, but meet and greets with the dolphins – including a photo with them and the opportunity to feed them!
