Backstreet Boys cancel Las Vegas Christmas shows, holiday album amid COVID-19 surge – KIRO 7 News Seattle

LAS VEGAS – Citing “the current state of the world,” the Backstreet Boys announced on Friday that the recent spike in COVID-19 cases has forced their upcoming limited Las Vegas run to be canceled as well as their Christmas album postponed to 2022.

In a joint Instagram post, all five members – AJ McLean, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson – confirmed that “A Very Backstreet Christmas Party” is scheduled for November 11th through December 23rd at the Zappos Theater , not happening, reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“We believe this has been one of our best creations so far and that this creation deserves the best possible scenario and setup for success. With the current state of the world still restricting our travels and little things taking much longer in these processes, we have decided to wait until 2022 to get our Christmas album out and then we will cancel our limited Christmas shows in Las Vegas afterwards. “Said the quintet.

Refunds for the Las Vegas holiday shows will be issued to all ticket holders, Entertainment Tonight reported.
