A new project under construction in the huge mixed-use complex 201 Las Vegas Boulevard S. could change the dining scene in downtown Las Vegas. The Broken Yolk Cafe in San Diego is the first eatery to reveal what to expect when the downtown center debuts next year in a former U.S. Postal Service facility that’s already gutted to the ground.
The local developer J Dapper and his company Dapper Cos. Bet the structure will add new banner signs to the recently branded Carson Avenue restaurant suite to mark the area that runs from Chef Natalie Young’s Eat on Seventh Street and Carson Avenue to his five restaurant tenants on Las Vegas Boulevard. Scattered along the street could restaurants like Carson Kitchen, VegeNation, 7th & Carson, and Donut Bar, including in Downtown Container Park, with the new branding that was part of one of the Las Vegas City Council in 2016.
Broken Yolk Cafe takes the prime corner position, creating a spacious, 4,659 square foot, casual, full service restaurant, plus an additional 1,326 square foot terrace that extends around the intersection of both blocks.
Documents recently filed with the City of Las Vegas indicate that the 2,200-square-foot dining area will install cabin seating and feature a vintage Pacific Beach design.
The Californian chain expanded very successfully to Town Square in 2019 and quickly became a local favorite for American diners and classic breakfast dishes. A second location is currently in the works for the southwest.
Plans for the Carson Avenue side of the building’s first floor include Taco Reforma, which serves street tacos in a modern, elegant, fast-casual setting, a fourth location for the French-inspired Baguette Café, for the time being with the spring arrival by Chef Olivier Brouillet, and the Pachinko Pub by Mark Evensvold and FukuBurgers Colin Fukunaga. The original leasing documents also referred to a still-to-be-confirmed churro bar next to the new taco restaurant.
The 43,913 square meter building also has an attached parking garage with 233 parking spaces, rental office space on the second and third floors as well as a 9,146 square meter rooftop restaurant and a bar.
