From our Love Handles department for great beer bars: check out this love work from longtime beer freak (and rocker) Keri Kelli in the middle of Sin City.
What is it: A craft beer outpost that serves casual fare in an unpretentious setting between the bright lights and the exaggerated absurdity of Vegas. Grab a hangover burger and some dog hair from one of the numerous faucets and regret the bad decisions you made at the casino the night before. When you’re flushed with happiness, celebrate with an older bottle from the cellar – they’ve stashed vintages from Firestone Walker Parabola to Belgian classics. And if you’re lucky, you might just run into a rock star during your stay.
Why it’s great: We had lunch at the Nellis location when we returned from HomebrewCon in San Diego in 2015. old bottle with 3 Fonteinen Oude Gueuze on the menu. The food was good, the beer was better, and the cognitive dissonance of stumbling across an icebox of stale beer was just too filling to ignore. It was so successful that they add a third location (this time with an attached brewery).
