Inside the Chevrolet Silverado 2022
General Motors Chief Executive Engineer, Full-Size Trucks Jaclyn McQuaid walks into the Fox Garage with Fox News Cars Editor Gary Gastelu to talk about the redesigned Chevrolet Silverado 2022.
Chevrolet has a new monster truck.
Designed to demonstrate the capabilities of Chevy trucks and Chevrolet Performance components, the Chevy Beast concept is a four-passenger off-roader based on a modified Silverado chassis, carrying a bespoke pickup body and powered by a Chevrolet Performance LT4 650 horsepower supercharger is powered crate engine.
Debuting at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the Chevy Beast is a concept that showcased the Chevrolet Performance Division’s vision of the ultimate desert car.
The Beast is a Silverado that has been converted into a four-seater SUV with an adjustable suspension system with long travel, racing shock absorbers and 13.5 inches of ground clearance.
The frame of the Silverado has been shortened and fitted with a chromoly cage and an open body that gives it the appearance of a military video game machine.
The Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 is the most powerful production version of the pickup.

The full-size 4×4 is shorter than a Chevy Colorado, is powered by a 650-hp, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 similar to that of the last-generation Chevrolet Corvette Z06, and runs on 37-inch all-terrain tires.
Chevy calls it a concept but has no plans to go into production as it is. Instead, it is intended as a showcase for the brand’s after-sales parts and inspires similar customs.
However, next year it will launch the new 2022 Silverado ZR2, a high-performance factory pickup with a special suspension designed for high-speed off-roading.

With just a 420 hp V8, it won’t become a direct competitor to the 702 hp Ram 1500 TRX, but an ambitious builder could probably use the Beast’s box engine and a few bits and pieces from the Chevrolet Performance catalog to make one out of it.
