LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – A partnership between a local business and a nonprofit brings more than a few crumbs of friendliness to the at-risk Las Vegas people.

Crumbl Cookies has multiple locations in the Las Vegas area. The owner of the Centennial and Cannery locations says they start baking cookies around 5am to have fresh baked goods all day.

Sometimes Crumbl Cookies leaves several hundred cookies left at the end of the day. This is where the Las Vegas Rescue Mission comes in.

Crumbl Cookies donates 500 to 1,000 cookies to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission every week. These cookies are packaged almost daily from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. and distributed during the nonprofit organization’s community dinner

Jason Sanchez owns the Centennial and Cannery Crumbl Cookies sites. He says this is a great way to keep your cookies fresh, avoid waste, and help the community.

“It’s hard to cope with this hustle and bustle that we have, the hustle and bustle at dinner. There are times when we bake biscuits, we don’t want to serve the biscuits that are not as fresh as possible so we have several hundred biscuits left over every day and we didn’t want to throw them away, ”Sanchez said.

Heather Williams, Director of Development at LVRM, says the partnership has been invaluable and brings out many smiles every day.

“It is always good for us that we can give a to-go box that we can sometimes distribute to the community at night. They always go down very well, everyone really loves them and values them, ”said Williams.

From time to time the nonprofit has enough biscuits to hand out to people who stay in their accommodations or recreational programs as well.

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission needs volunteers to help wrap the cookies and assist with other food preparation.
