In 2016, celebrity chef Shawn McClain and world-famous mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim joined forces and opened the modern gastropub Libertine Social. “It was really a collaboration across the board,” Abou-Ganim told Las Vegas Magazine. “I met Shawn when we did Iron Chef America together, and we’ve been friends ever since – at work festivals, charity events together, and we’ve always talked about working together. And he came to me one day and said he had a potential venue in Mandalay Bay; that’s how it all started. Libertine Social – the name says it all. It’s a place that is sociable, fun and has something for everyone. “
On the cocktail side, guests can enjoy a specially created collection of sizzles, fizzes, barrel-aged, bottled and classic craft cocktails. On the food side, the fried caviar egg with slices of brioche toast for dipping is a not-to-be-missed starter and one that has become a trademark. The home-baked pretzel with beer-cheddar fondue and the delicious cheese board are also great starters. Filet mignon, boned ribeye, rock steak, and some seafood dishes are all impressive dishes from land and sea, but don’t miss the shrimp and grits, the libertine cheeseburger, or the fried chicken sandwich.
