Fried chicken sandwiches are not a fad; If anything, they’re almost more popular than burgers right now. Chick Fil-A / Popeye’s chicken sandwich war is proof that people take this food seriously. And no chain is more dedicated to this experience than Crack Shack, a gourmet roast chicken restaurant that offers a creative, extensive menu full of surprises.
The Coop Deville offers the chain’s famous Jidori Fried Chicken Breast, along with pickled Fresno chillies, lime mayonnaise and Napa cabbage on a brioche roll. The Cali Drip offers Pollo Asado and French fries with chipotle bacon mayonnaise, pickled onions, jalapenos and Oaxacan queso on a crispy torta. For the really brave, order the Double Clucker, two chicken patties with bacon, cheddar cheese, mashed avocado, cucumber, fried onions and “burger sauce” on a potato bun.
There are plenty of inventive sides too, from chicken oysters and Mexican poutine to the restaurant’s signature schmaltz fries topped with pollo asado and jalapeño cheese.
