Following the announcement that the US will reopen to European travelers in November, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will offer additional connections to destinations in the US this winter.
The Dutch government also decided to withdraw the previously announced quarantine regulations for vaccinated travelers from the US. KLM had previously been forced to cancel flights due to these regulations.
The relaxation of the restrictions led to the decision by KLM to resume service Las Vegas and Miami from December 7th. Passengers to these destinations who have previously been rebooked can contact KLM for a free rebooking on these direct flights.
KLM had previously announced that it would add four new destinations to its winter flight schedule: Cancun (Mexico), Port of Spain (Trinidad & Tobago), Bridgetown (Barbados), and Mombasa (Kenya).
Network strategy
Restoring a global network of destinations is at the heart of KLM’s strategy to emerge from the coronavirus crisis as a stronger and more competitive airline. Since the coronavirus pandemic began, KLM has received as much as possible from its network. This ensured that passengers could continue to make (necessary) travel and cargo, including medical supplies and vaccines, could be carried. This strategy was of great benefit to KLM during the pandemic and is now making it easier to scale its operations. KLM will continue to insist on greater consistency in travel restriction policies.
