LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A woman is accused of spat on several Las Vegas City police officers during an incident Tuesday morning at McCarran International Airport.

Metro police said they responded to a gate at the airport after Karleen Gearing of Phoenix, Ariz., “Aggressive and yelled at Southwest Airlines employees,” they said.

According to the police, the airline Gearing refused to board due to their behavior, according to an arrest report.

“I tried to speak to Gearing to inform them of Southwest Airlines’ decision,” the investigator wrote in the report. “Then she got argumentative with officers and started screaming and cursing. She was told to calm down, but she refused and fell to the ground. “

Officers then began arresting Gearing when she allegedly resisted and spat at her, police said.

The police eventually took Gearing into custody with the help of several officers and a spit mask.

Gearing faces battery charges of a protected officer who opposes arrest and violation of airport rules.

She was released on bail and ordered to stay out of trouble and stay away from Southwest Airliners.
