According to Newsweek, the man bought a drink with turmeric, lemon, and hibiscus at a Chipotle store. However, one policeman was not pleased. The man said on the video, “He said my ‘open container’ tested positive for alcohol.” The drink in question is a non-alcoholic option called “Certified Organic Hibiscus Lemonade”. The product description reads: “Tart hibiscus blossoms and fresh citrus fruits combine in this riff to create a classic. A bit fruity. A bit lemony.”
Chipotle does not ignore these allegations. Laurie Schalow, Chief Corporate Affairs and Food Safety Officer, said: “We take these allegations very seriously and have asked the guest to contact us with further details. The drink was created by Tractor Beverages.
The video definitely generates strong responses. Someone said the drink likely tested positive because it is essentially fermented tea. Meanwhile, a Chipotle employee didn’t buy the claim, saying the drink is just a combination of water and concentrate. Furious.
