The Las Vegas Raiders do without linebacker Tanner Muse, according to a report by Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. Muse was the 2020 third round pick of the team from Clemson, who missed his entire rookie season with a toe injury.

The Raiders chose Muse, whp played security at Clemson, with the No. 100 overall selection in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. After moving to linebacker with the Raiders, he seemed confident in his development.

In a training camp notebook on raiders.com, the team’s website, Muse recently mentioned having a 1v1 training rep when he was having his “welcome to the NFL” moment. In reporting against Lynn Bowden, fellow rookie and former Kentucky star, Muse came up with a big pass resolution.

“That moment, man,” Muse said last year. “I look up to see my teammates running down to congratulate me and I’m just RELAXed. (Head) Coach (Jon) Gruden, (Linebackers) Coach (David) Lipcott, all the linebackers are partying with me, and it is just … an unreal feeling when you can play in front of high-level players and prove that you belong.

“I want Raider Nation to know me as a player like that. I love having fun, I love going to the beach and traveling. But I live to work and I live to grind. I want to be the best version. ” by myself. Coach Gruden always expects me to bring the juice every day. So I’ll do that. “

During five years at Clemson from 2015-19, Muse played 50 games in the last four seasons, making 191 tackles (10 for loss), 3 1/2 sacks, seven interceptions (one touchdown), 14 pass breakups, and one forced fumble ( A rest). As a senior for the Tigers in 2019, Muse started a four-pass career, a production that Gruden became aware of.

Forget about making the team, we think all seven can contribute. “ Gruden said in an interview about the Raiders 2020 draft picks Jerry McDonald of San Jose, California Mercury News on May 15th. “You look like a guy like Muse from Clemson in the (third) round. (Isaiah) Simmons got all the ink, for good reason he played multiple positions. But Muse too.

“Damn, I ‘I’ve been watching Alabama by the ball two years ago against Clemson, and Simmons isn’t even on the field in the goal line or short distance. Muse is. He didn’t even play first-down on any of the staff groupings Alabama had set up, but Muse was. “
