LAS VEGAS, NV (KLAS) – Metro police are investigating a fatal accident involving a minor in the northwestern part of the valley.
The call came just before 12:30 p.m. at W. Tropical Pkwy and Centennial Center Blvd because of a car accident.
According to police, the boy was crossing Centennial Center Blvd in an easterly direction against a pedestrian signal.
According to police, a 2020 Ford Fusion was driving north on the left side of two lanes when it hit the pedestrian trying to cross in front of it. The front of the car hit the boy and threw him forward onto the lane.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was transported to the university hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The Ford driver stayed on site and cooperated in the investigation.
The pedestrian death was the 102nd road fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2021.
