NoMad Library in Las Vegas creates bestsellers every day

There are many beautiful interiors in Las Vegas restaurants, but one of the most noticeable is the NoMad Library in Park MGM. The quiet path to the restaurant exudes luxury and the plush entrance to the restaurant opens onto a dining room lined with books on all sides. It’s a furnishing trend that has gained momentum in recent years and that NoMad has perfected. Comfortable benches nestle against the wall and cozy niches dominate the center of the room. There are so many volumes on the shelves that one might almost expect to see a library manager slide by at dinner.

NoMad is known for its killer cocktail list, but it changes often so you want to get the most current list for your starting cocktail, but hopefully it includes The Pink Lady with Gin, Apricot Liqueur, Apple Brandy, and Grenadine. You will be satisfied no matter what you choose.

The starters here write a story of their own, with options for two or more guests like the Fruits de Mer, with a seafood selection to whet your appetite. Tuna tartare is prepared at the table with the flavors togarashi, shiso, tamarind, horseradish and chilli. The oysters here are a bit unusual, not only in their innovative presentation, but also in the fact that they can be enjoyed chilled or hot with bacon and creamed spinach. And go back to the classics with a wedge salad – the blue cheese dressing is spiced up with miso.

Tagliatelle or risotto with truffle butter, parmesan and white truffles are perfect starters for the season; it’s earthy and adorable. You can also choose Chilean sea bass with poached mussels; Branzino with grilled baby leek; a veal chop with autumn green chimichurri; or filet mignon. Suckling pig is served with pears, mustard and bacon jam. However, NoMad is known for its signature dishes for two: the roast chicken, decadently stuffed with foie gras, black truffles, and brioche; and the American Wagyu Prime Rib, which is rubbed with black garlic and served with horseradish cream and bordelaise sauce.

And the sides are one of the joys of the place. A favorite is the Dumont baked potato. This is cut into thin slices and filled with Gruyère cheese and black truffles. For potato fans, it’s great. Honey nut squash is an autumnal dish that warms the stomach, and lemon ricotta is so tender. The Ridiculous Mac & Cheese is named for its over-the-top ingredients like lobster and black truffle – it’s not a kid’s dish here.

For dessert, close the book with The Sundae, a presentation of ice cream served with several delicate toppings that are as pretty as they are delicious.
