The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will book new airline tickets from Hawaii to Las Vegas in November. The Maui Invitational will now take place in Las Vegas from November 22nd to 24th. Due to the ongoing pandemic, travel restrictions and COVID-19 protocols in Hawaii, the change had to be made. With the 2020 pandemic, the Maui invitation was postponed to Asheville, North Carolina, although the invitation was not in Hawaii due to COVID-19 in previous years.
“I would like to thank the organizers KemperLesnik and their Vice President Tom Valdiserri for their patience and understanding over the past few weeks and months as we have jointly observed developments in the field of public health. We appreciate Maui’s partnership with them and look forward to their return to their home court here on Maui in 2022, ”said Maui Mayor Michael Victorino.
Notre Dame will play St. Mary’s in the first round of the Maui Invitation. Irish Hoops will play on Monday, November 22nd, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. in * Las Vegas * on ESPN2. The Irish are returning to the Maui Invitational for the first time since the 2017/18 season when they clinched their first Maui title. This season’s Maui lineup includes Notre Dame, St. Mary’s, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Butler, Houston, Oregon, and Chaminade. The winner of the Notre Dame – St. Mary’s competition will meet the winner of Oregon – Chaminade on November 23, 2021 at 3 p.m.
