One of the most anticipated events in Las Vegas each year is the MENUS (Mentoring and Educating Nevada’s Upcoming Students) from the Epicurean Charitable Foundation. Although 2020 was a little faltering, MENUS 2021: Glitz & Glam of Vintage Vegas promises to deliver the pizzazz that Vegas is known for. The annual Dine Around and Silent auction will take place this year in the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, which opened in the spring.
Every year the theme changes, but black, gold and glitter clothes are suggested this year so break out your chicest clothes and be ready to impress.
As you meander through the outdoor event, enjoy live music. Zowie Bowie and offerings from more than 30 participating restaurants including favorites like Johnny C’s Diner, Giada, Todd English’s Olives, Binion’s Steakhouse, Hugo’s Cellar, The Kitchen at Commons Club, Border Grill, Violette’s Vegan and the recently opened Superfrico many others. Plus there are plenty of cocktails to make it even more beautiful. A silent auction collects products and packages from generous donors across the Strip and the Vegas Valley, and the bidding can be fierce but always fun.
The MENUS event is just one of the ways the foundation is raising funds for its UNLV grants, first awarded in 2004, which help well-deserved students pursue careers in the hospitality industry. Participants must provide proof of a full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test before entering the event.
