L FOR LECHON Dedet de la Fuente and Pepita’s Kitchen Crew
Aside from its most spectacular shows, luxurious casinos and bright lights, Las Vegas is also a culinary epicenter with the best dishes in the world. Proof of this is the offering of its newest city gem, Resorts World, which opened on June 24, 2021. At the same time as its opening, the 24,000 square meter Food Hall, Famous Foods Street Eats, will open, in which the best dishes of Southeast Asia will be served.
Dishes that sparked the Asian food invasion on the famous Strip include Hong Kong’s sumptuous dumplings, the hearty Thai beef noodles and of course the star of every Filipino fiesta banquet, the Lechon.
The popular Filipino roast pork is served by Pepita’s Kitchen under the direction of its creator and owner, Dedet de la Fuente. During the opening day of the Asian hawker-inspired Food Hall, June 25, 2021, Dedet served the people of Las Vegas their famous Sisig Panini and Lechon with Truffle Rice.

Dedet soaked up the spirit of Sin City and also presented herself with her stylized cooking uniform by the Filipino fashion designer Rajo Laurel.
“I would tell you that I am really a shy person. But when I wear my cooking top, my personality turns into a diva – a Lechon diva, ”said Dedet. “Everyone loves it, even the Vice Chairman of Resorts World. After introducing myself as a Filipino Lechon diva, [he] smiled and said: ‘I can see you from afar.’ “
As for their lechon dish, let’s say there’s a long line of hungry diners drooling over their juicy pork. “Let’s work together to make the Filipino Lechon and Filipino cuisine a worldwide sensation,” reflected Dedet.
