Starting March 2019, Southwest Airlines will connect the residents of Hawaii with its neighboring islands and Las Vegas and offer non-stop services from several Hawaiian airports.
“We are now offering a cross-island service for Kahului, Kona, Hilo and Lihue. We also offer non-stop service to 8 mainland destinations including San Diego, Long Beach, LAX, Sacramento and the ninth island of Las Vegas, ”said Kelly Knox, community outreach lead at Southwest Airlines.
As more Hawaiian residents travel on vacation, Knox is pleased that Southwest Airlines is more than happy to connect the Hawaii community with Las Vegas with more than just non-stop service options.
Knox says, “We have non-stop service to Vegas via Maui, Kona, and Kauai. Two checked bags fly for free, which means you can shop at Trader Joes or elsewhere during your stay without having to pay for baggage. This applies to all customers, not just those with status or credit cards. “
Those looking to take advantage of Southwest Airlines ‘nonstop services can also join Southwest Airlines’ Rapid Rewards program, a program that Knox believes offers great benefits.
“Our program allows you to accumulate points quickly so you can start redeeming quickly. Points are earned based on the amount you spend. And you can also collect points through our partners, such as the Chase Visa credit card. Our credit card sign-up bonuses can be up to 100,000 points. One way is about 9000 points. Interisland flights only cost 2200 points each way. You can visit many places for 100,000 points. And there are no blackout dates. If a seat is available on the flight, you can use your Rapid Rewards points to book. You’ve earned the points, you have the right to use them on the days you want to travel, ”says Knox.
