SPI Entertainment has long been an influential force in Las Vegas, producing some of the highest caliber shows in a variety of genres, from residences to innovative limited engagements, while managing the bustling Excalibur showroom anchored by the popular Thunder From Down Under . male revue.
Because of the versatility of his business, founder Adam Steck has a unique perspective of the Strip and an in-depth understanding of what types of entertainment work and what doesn’t in the Vegas countryside.
“Being able to wear different hats and have different roles over twenty years in what we do has been pretty amazing,” said Steck on this week’s episode of Sun on the Strip. “
SPI Entertainment’s business is booming in several ways in 2021. “Thunder” has been doing blockbuster deals at the Thunderland Showroom in Excalibur all summer as the show’s loyal supporters have happily returned to Las Vegas to re-engage with the experience.
“All the bachelorette parties that couldn’t happen [during the last year], they make up for that, ”said Steck. “Girls between 18 and 80 come back, let their hair fall, and come to see the show that has been successful for so many years and is now stepping up.”
In addition to this success and the other shows in Thunderland, SPI’s new partnership with the Strat has already produced a number of exciting productions in the Strat Theater, including the new “iLuminate” and “Banachek’s Mind Games”.
“I never stopped working [during the pandemic]. I always plan and plan how to expand, which shows can go where, ”said Steck, who teamed up with the Strat after receiving a call from the estate’s senior vice president of marketing and friend Brad Goldberg. “The property is amazing, it just finished that $ 100 million renovation and it looks really good and has great energy. The building is iconic, it has Top of the World, one of the coolest restaurants in town, and the showroom itself is phenomenal.
“For years they only had one show there and I said I want to maximize the property and make the property stickier so that people can have more entertainment options there. We wanted to give shows at 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., and now these seats are all taken. “
