When you visit Tao Asian Bistro (The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian & The Palazzo, 702.388.8338), you step into a world that seems thousands of miles away. A tunnel past marble tubs filled with bathers and rose petals leads you into a dark, intimate setting. Statues of Buddha sit in wood-paneled niches behind plush niches, while a large inviting bar is a great place to enjoy an aperitif cocktail. In the main dining area, a huge Buddha looks out over several floors.

All of this makes for a suitable situation to enjoy Tao’s delicious menu of Asian delicacies. You’ll want to order family-style here to get the most out of dinner (though you can certainly enjoy a starter all to yourself if you want). Starters to order for your first course include pork potsticker, Chilean sea bass satay, lobster wantons, and avocado and asparagus tempura. For the larger starters, choose honey-glazed salmon, crispy orange chicken or the signature 12-ounce Imperial Wagyu Ribeye with yuzu coriander butter. Share delicacies like salmon sashimi; the role of the Tao Angry Dragon; Pad Thai with peanuts, mushrooms and tofu; Fried Rice with Thai Duck; or fried rice with lobster and kimchi.
