The College of Fine Arts is pleased to partner with The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas to Showcase Diversity in Art | A Celebration of Las Vegas, a competition that seeks out ambitious local artists who want to continue their artistic training to create an original mural that makes Las Vegas unique and diverse. The site-specific mural will be added to the resort’s art collection. The selected artist will also receive a four-year UNLV scholarship for further artistic training, fully paid for by The Cosmopolitan.

Charitable giving has remained an important pillar of The Cosmopolitan ethos for over a decade. More than $ 5.6 million in charitable donations for student learning and enrichment, food and starvation relief, diversity and inclusion, military and veteran support, first responders, and accessible arts. An extensive program like no other on the Strip, the resort’s accessible and guest-focused arts program removes the velvet ropes and allows guests to interact and immerse themselves with the contemporary installations while promoting greater awareness and appreciation for the arts.

Through this exclusive partnership with the College of Fine Arts, the resort seamlessly integrates its arts program with its nonprofit focus on diversity and inclusion by asking emerging local artists for the chance to create a mural depicting the thriving and diverse Las Vegas community . The mural will be displayed in the employee entrance behind the house.

“At UNLV’s College of Fine Arts, we are grateful to The Cosmopolitan for partnering with our college in a mural competition to create a permanent art exhibition that celebrates diversity and inclusion. The concept is inspiring and so very important to the Las Vegas community. “said Nancy J. Uscher, Dean of Fine Arts.” I want to acknowledge the transformative impact a full grant from The Cosmopolitan will have on the life of a young Clark County artist. We are truly honored to be a part of “deeply meaningful collaboration with the community.”
