HONOLULU (KHON2) On November 13th, the Rainbow Warriors of the University of Hawaii (UH) will play against the Las Vegas Rebels of the University of Nevada at Allegiant Stadium.
The Rainbow Warriors want to keep this “Island Showdown” trophy in the islands, and they will have ample support with around eight to nine thousand Hawaii fans expected in the Vegas bleachers.

“It’s a new stadium, I think people are excited. The Raiders are here now – they’re playing the next day – so I think a lot of people are turning into a kind of combo trip, ”said Kimo Kai, UH Foundation and Associate Athletics Director of Philanthropic Partnerships at the University of Hawaii.
“The Hawaiian people love Vegas. But many fans couldn’t come. This is your chance, and it is a destination you are ready to travel to. So it’s probably a bigger audience than we’ve had in a long time. “

UH alumni will be hosts Warrior Weekend with Kickoff in Cal on Friday, November 12th, as well as on Saturday a rally tailgate for the game day.
“We have a few leaves in flight up there; so people can take it to the stadium to cheer on the bows, ”said Maile Au, Senior Executive Director of UH Alumni Relations.
“He was the reason I wanted to be a warrior in the first place,” Hawai’i Football will honor the legendary quarterback this Saturday at the Colt Brennan Tribute Night
The UH box office said the tickets are sold out, but people can still buy them on UNLV website. The alumni association said that even tickets bought through travel packages are almost sold out.
According to the Allegiant Stadium website, proof of COVID vaccination is only required for the Raiders’ home games. All participants, regardless of vaccination status, for non-NFL stadium events must wear a face mask inside.

“We encouraged vaccinations – things like that – to come to the event; We have a lot of disclaimers before you register and come to our events, so we’re still trying to be on the safe side, ”explained Au. “At the Luxor we will get a larger area than we need – just so that we are not all crammed together in a small space – and hopefully people will feel a little more comfortable with it.”
