Sandwich franchise based in California Togo’s Eateries will open its first location in Las Vegas and Makea Macaluso is excited to be the woman who does it. Macaluso, who has built her career primarily in real estate investing, said her decision to open her own Togo’s in Vegas has been heavily influenced by feelings of nostalgia for the brand. Your trip to Togo began almost two decades ago.
“As a teenager, my first job was at a KFC in Pittsburg, California, across from Togo,” says Macaluso. “I fell in love with the sandwiches and met my husband and current business partner there 18 years ago.”
Macaluso knew early on that she wanted to build a business empire. It was her grandmother, who was also an entrepreneur, who encouraged her to believe that she could overcome any challenge she accepted. Now she is ready for this new adventure. In fact, Macaluso signed the opening of two more Togo locations in Las Vegas.
“I’ve worked in different industries over the course of my career, but they all have one thing in common: They were service-oriented. In addition to investing in residential complexes in the local community, my husband and I have run successful garbage disposal and household cleaning businesses, ”says Macaluso. “I really enjoy offering a product that puts a smile on customers’ faces and I’m excited to be bringing the first Togo’s to Las Vegas this September.”
As a lifelong fan of Togo, Macaluso took the opportunity when she learned that the brand wanted to expand into their community. She connected with existing franchisees to learn about their experiences with the brand during the pandemic and soon found that the brand provided franchise owners with more than just great recipes.

Makea will be opening the first Togo’s in Las Vegas this September and hopes to open its second location within a year.
