Las Vegas (KLAS) – Coroner, Clark County, identified Victor Riojas, 23, as a pedestrian who was hit and killed in an alleged drunk driving accident near Grand Canyon Drive and Cheyenne on June 29. His cause of death is still open.

According to the subway police, the involved driver Stephen Ordrika was admitted to the Clark County Detention Center on suspicion of drunk driving and died in a fatal accident.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at around 5:33 p.m. in the northwestern valley.

Police said Ordrika was “difficult to answer questions related to the accident, with tears, watery eyes and seeming confused”. Ordorica refused to drink or use drugs, but failed the on-site drink test. A search warrant for blood tests was issued.

Blood tests showed that he was under the influence of CNS stimulants and cannabis.

Witnesses and video footage showed that the Ordrika truck was traveling east on Cheyenne and approaching the junction with the Grand Canyon on the far right. The collision occurred when Rio Hass hit Ford’s itinerary.

At the scene of the crime, Metro 8 announced to News Now that pedestrians had crossed the marked pedestrian crossing.

On-site evidence, testimony and video footage of the collision showed that a male pedestrian crossed Cheyenne South outside the pedestrian crossing against traffic control signals.

Police say the 2019 Ford F-450 truck hit Riohas and threw it forward and onto the ground. He was fatally injured and sentenced to death from UMC trauma.

Oldrika was uninjured and stayed at the scene of the accident. He cooperated with the investigation but was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after failing a drunkenness test.

Ordorica has been admitted to the Clark County Detention Center on suspicion of drunk driving and the clash is under investigation.

Riohas’ death marks the 65th traffic-related death in the LVMPD jurisdiction in 2021.
