I am married and have three children. I was fired last May for being drunk at work. I hid this from my family and friends. I didn’t apply for unemployment because I didn’t want my spouse to know anything, so I took out a second mortgage on the house as it’s only in my name. I used the money to open my own secret account and made regular deposits into our shared checking account as if I were being paid. I used to travel a lot for work, so I have to go away for a few days every 3 weeks to keep this up. I went to Vegas and gambled away my second mortgage money. I pretty much gambled away my second mortgage, I should say. I have maybe a month to say that my family is broke and they don’t know about it.
